Our butchers shops are situated in the picturesque village of Kilkhampton, just north of Bude and on Queen Street in Bude. Our family business, established over 100 years, is well known for quality fresh meat, home reared locally on our own farm.
Our own delicious local lamb, grass fed beef cattle and localy sourced free range poultry are sold alongside a select range of pork and homemade sausages. Our beef is hung for 21 days to maximise flavour and tenderness, and we only stock the freshest, highest quality local meat & poultry:
As well as operating two traditional butchers shops, we also have our own farm where we raise native breed cattle and Sheep, all of which are sold through our Bude and Kilkhampton shops.
Our Bacon, Pork, Free Range chickens and Ducks are all locally sourced.
Shane’s Great Grandfather moved to the farm in 1938 as a renting tenant and bought it in the 1960s. The old Bude canal runs through the farm and at that time was used to take sand from Bude to the farms as well as coal from Bude railway station. Shane has run the farm since 2000 and owned the Kilkhampton shop since 2007 although the shop has been in the family since 1986. In 2014 Moores Butchers opened a second shop on Queen Street, Bude.
